Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi Share the Nobel Peace Prize

Millennial‘s 2013 ‘Millennial of the Year‘ Malala Yousafzai has received the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize (a slightly more prestigious honor), along with Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian children’s rights activist. The two won “for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.” Earlier this year, we wrote about the extraordinary work Malala is doing:

Malala is focused on issues that could transform global history and usher in an era of greater human flourishing and global justice. The education of girls is intrinsically good. But it also has the potential to reduce poverty, expand the protection of other human rights, and undermine repression and tyranny. It has the potential to unlock the creative altruism of millions of girls around the world. It is one of the most profoundly important causes of our era.
